Lokwan is a heritage wheat variety grown in selected regions of Madhya Pradesh, known for its naturally high protein and rich, nutty flavour. These are whole, unpolished wheat kernels – just the grain with only the inedible husk removed – nothing added, nothing processed.
Lokwan kernels cook up chewy and wholesome, making them an excellent substitute for refined grains. Use them in salads, soups, khichdi, pulao, buddha bowls, or simply soak and pressure-cook to enjoy as a nutritious whole grain.
This wheat variety is valued for its fuller body, superior taste, and naturally robust grain size. Because the entire kernel is intact (bran, germ, and endosperm), you get maximum nutrition: dietary fibre, B-vitamins, trace minerals, plant protein, and beneficial antioxidants in every serving.
