Glossy leaves and strong pigmented deep purple colour. Has all culinary applications of the green basil, lending the familiar basil flavour to sauces and pesto as well as a bit of dynamics with their colour.

Can be used as an ornamental, and attract bees with their lilac blossoms. Grow to a height of 12-18" and does well in warm weather.

Seeds come from Yarroway Farm.
