Barley is one of the oldest known cereal grains and is a hearty, whole grain with a sweet nut-like flavor. It is the staple diet of the Himalayan people providing with required energy in the higher terrains.
Tips :
- Soak 1 cup of barley in 2 cups of water overnight in a covered container, in the refrigerator.
- Drain and rinse the barley before cooking.
Uses: Soak in warm water, milk or juice for raw eaing or give it a quick boil for porridge or soup. Ideal for granola, muesli, creamy soups, stews, desserts, pie crusts, and baked goods. Store in an airtight container for upto 6 months.
