SproutOG’s Wholegrain Red Rice Idli Dosa Batter for Sugar Control is made with whole kullakar red rice: it is an ancient Indian red rice known to possess many medicinal properties; controlling blood sugar levels, revitalizing, energizing, lowering bad cholesterol, prevents premature ageing and skin diseases.

Shelf Life : 5 days under refrigeration

Storage Instructions: Please keep refrigerated.

Packed in virgin plastic BPA-free reusable and recyclable tamper-evident pouches. 

Instructions for use: Thaw completely until it matches ambient temperature. Lightly mix, but do not let out all the air bubbles (this is what makes fluffy idlis and dosas). Gently spoon it in a greased Idli plate / on a hot lightly oiled Dosa tava. Steam the idlis and remove carefully / grill the dosas with a little oil. Dip it in hot sambar or chutney. Take a bite. Burn roof of mouth. Wait for it to cool. Continue eating normally.

Frozen Batter?
We freeze ALL our breads and batters on purpose. It’s part of our manufacturing process.

Here’s why the 12 hour deep freeze is actually good.

1. Starch Retrogradation

Freezing helps the starches set in a stable structure. This is mainly done to reduce the sugar spike when you consume dosas made with our batter. Let us know if you want the science behind this. 

2. We Slow Down Over-Fermentation

Our grains and legumes are soaked, sprouted, and basically buzzing with life. Super bioactive = super prone to over-fermenting if left unchecked. Freezing gently presses the pause button so your batter stays fresh, safe, and delicious — exactly the way we intended it.

You’re all set to simply thaw it, gently mix to incorporate, add some salt (and water if you want to spread thin dosas), and stay healthy :-)
