Bean with edible pods that have a characteristic wide and flat shape. Flat beans, also known as helda beans, romano beans and "sem fhali" in some Indian states.

These come to us from a farm in Tamil Nadu.

Usually used in curry preparations.

Ideal for braising. They hold their shape really well and become wonderfully tender. You will know they are finished when they have lost their “squeak.”
