Gautham's March Seasonal Update

March is a very interesting month. Winter has ended, Summer is starting. All these reflects in the fruits and produce that is being available and not available.

- Broccoli season just got over last week.

- Green Grapes are going strong. Green Grapes (thompson variety) especially is very very sweet now. But they will be quite ripe and yellow now. wont be as green as before. But enjoy the natures sweetness. Very soon Thompson variety will end and bigger sized grapes variety will start, but those wont be as sweet the thompson variety.

- We have recently started flames and black grapes as well. They are good too.

- Strawberries from Mahaballeshwar are still available, but we are indeed facing lot of challenges in delivering to our customers. By the time they reach you, they become a bit ripe with smudges. Some even catch fungus. If you prefer perfect strawberries, now is the time to avoid or skip the mahaballeshwar ones. For the ones who don't mind these smudges and dents, we will have them available for you until this month end. Wont be available April onwards.

- Same with Bluberries. Most likely will stop by end of this month.

- Golden berries comes from the same farm as Mahaballeshwar strawberries. Prices have dropped.

- Grateful to my Haas Avocado farmer for having these available for exclusively Healthy Buddha customers. These ones ripen well, unlike the kodai ones.

- Kalipath Sapota is going great guns. The taste now is very very sweet.

- Mosambi/ Sweetlime starting from our favourite farmer Subba reddy from tomorrow.

- Loving the watermelon taste these days.

- Pomegranete is available as of this month. But we are facing some quality issues in terms of softness. Most likely we will stop this from April since the inside colour will change to white soon. So enjoy these this month until it is available.

- Mangoes season will start properly April mid onwards. Some preseason mangoes have started coming. We are taking it slowly. Now the prices will be quite expensive and taste will be less. We got one lot of Ratnagiri Alphanso from Maharastra. Expecting some Sendhuras from Kerala this weekend.

- Recently we started some very good probiotic drinks partnering with Satva Organic Farms. Kimchi, Kanji, Kamboochas, Kefir, Solkhadi. Some new cheese like Mozeralla and Garlic & Herbs cheese
. I have personally been enjoying the Solkhadi and KEFIR. Have these chilled, tastes amazing in the hot weather. Give it a try and let us know your feedback.

- Since my last update, we also tested onions for pesticide residues and they are good. Here is the test report for your reference.
